Specialist Fourth Class Kenneth J. David was today awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for heroic actions during the Vietnam War. He was previously inducted into the Ohio Military Hall of Fame for Valor and Military Bravery on May 7, 2010. As a recipient of a Purple Heart and Distinguished Service Cross, he was also a Distinguished Member of the Regiment of the 1-506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), at Fort Campbell.
M.W.B. Keith W. Newton, Grand Secretary, announced the pending honor in a message to Ohio Freemasons stating that Brother David is a member of Cortland Lodge #529 F.&A.M. of Ohio. Brother David continues to work with disabled veterans in his retirement.
