Obituary for 
Cornell J. DeWeese

Cornell “Corky” J. DeWeese 86, passed away Tuesday morning, October 1, 2024. His daughter, Erica J. DeWeese survives him. Many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survived him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Julia DeWeese, and his oldest daughter, Valerie L. DeWeese. He was a master of puns and a fan of Science Fiction. Corky was a member of The Covenant at Sugar Grove.  He was an eight-year veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from AT&T with over 25 years of service and then went on to work for Montgomery County. Corky was a member of New Carlisle Masonic Lodge #100, F&AM, the New Carlisle Chapter #57, RAM, the New Carlisle Council #143, R&SM, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Palestine Commandery #33 Knights Templar, Past High Priest of New Carlisle #57 RAM, OES New Carlisle Chapter #423, OES Home City Chapter #258, where he was Past Patron.  A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10 am-11 am, on October 10, 2024, at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR, AND FRALEY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the funeral home.  The burial will take place at the Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.trostelchapman.com.
