Condolences Dale L. Grimm, Our Neighbor

Many of you knew Dale Grimm as our neighbor next door to our Temple. He was not a member of our lodge but a friend to many. See the Funeral details below in his obituary.

Obituary Dale L. Grimm


Dale L. Grimm, known to students on his school bus as Mr. G, has departed this life and gone to the next on Saturday, August 3. He was born August 9, 1949 to Charles Enos and Marily Jean (Hitchew) Grimm. He was a 1966 graduate of Beavercreek High School and attended Capital University for 3 years. He married the former Carol Marie Mader on January 18, 1975. Dale was known to many as a DJ on WIZE radio, and later on WBLY and WULM through the 1970’s and 1980’s. He was in sales & business throughout the 1990’s and 2000’s. In 2008 Dale began publication of the New Carlisle News & Enon Eagle, adding the Tippecanoe Gazette & Troy Tribune in the 2010s. He was elected to New Carlisle City Council in 2020 and elected Vice Mayor of New Carlisle in 2022. He was also a member of the New Carlisle Rotary Club. Dale began driving a school bus for Tecumseh Local Schools in 2021 and continued doing so after chemotherapy until 2023. Dale was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2022 and completed chemotherapy in January of 2023. The cancer returned and Dale began hospice in 2024, where he peacefully died in his family’s arms. Dale is survived by his sister, Debbie Sakalaskas of Huber Heights and his brother, Charles Grimm, of Beavercreek. He is also survived by his three children: Kevin Grimm of Honolulu, HI, Becky (Troy) Winters of Dry Ridge, KY and Andrew (Melanie) Grimm of Urbana, OH; by his 8 grandchildren: Morgan and Kalib Grimm, Joshua, Matthew and Curtis Winters and Dominic, Lucas and Charlotte Grimm: and his one great-grandchild Apollo Grimm. He goes to join his wife, Carol, who passed away in 2010, and his parents. Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 Friday, August 9, 2024 in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon. A funeral service will be conducted 10:00 Saturday in the West Enon Church of God 4800 Snyder Road, Fairborn, Ohio 45324 with burial to follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. www.adkinsfunerals.com
